| Q. |
What makes Midwave different from an IT flexible staffing company? |
| |
|
| A. |
Midwave operates very differently from an IT flexible staffing firm. Staffing companies operate under the model of selling a service, then scouring their database for candidates that meet the description. They will generally employ that individual as a contractor, making no long term commitments to the individual outside of a specific billable engagement.
The intent is to sell an individual into the company, and have them stay for an extended period of time. They will work exclusively under the direction of the client and will generally not arrive with any specific context or intellectual property outside of their individual expertise.
Midwave is entirely different. Our consultants are W-2 employees. They have worked within teams of other Midwave employees, have access to all of Midwave’s intellectual property, know how to access niche expertise throughout the rest of the organization, and are ingrained in the Midwave quality ethic.
When our people operate at your office, they are only there to see a specific project through to completion rather than trying to extend their stay beyond your intent. And as employees, they are likely to remain accessible to our clients months or years down the road as they need help.

| Q. |
In which Information Technology specializations does Midwave have a leadership position? |
| |
|
| A. |

| |
|
| Q. |
Who has contracted with you for these services? Can you provide a list of your clients who are about our size or are in our market (financial, healthcare, etc.)? |
| |
|
| A. |
We can provide references for all of the above with the exception of information security. You can also visit our Client Testimonals & Case Studies to see some of our success stories. Clients of our security services do not provide references as a standard element of best practices. For more information, please fill out our Rapid Response Form or call us at (952) 297-5900. |

|
| Q. |
How does Midwave attract and retain top talent? |
| |
|
| A. |
Most of our hiring is the result of references from employees, clients, and partners. Because we have a strong reputation for employing some of the industry’s best and brightest, we are often sought out by top talent from other companies. We also employ a full time recruiter to help us find the rarified talent we expect.
We retain top talent by working on exciting projects. For the reasons described earlier, we generally have access to some of the most exciting IT initiatives in the market. This helps us attract and retain leading talent. Our culture of empowerment and collaboration makes Midwave an attractive organization for self-motivated, innovative consultants.

| Q. |
Does Midwave sell hardware and/or software? |
| |
|
| A. |
We don’t like to think of ourselves as a hardware or software seller although we do sell both. Midwave is an IT consulting firm. We design and install solutions relating to their network architecture, unified communications, wireless networks, IT security and more. |
| |
|
| Q. |
What type of advisory consulting work does Midwave do? |
| |
|
| A. |
Midwave’s consulting falls primarily into two tracks:
First, we have assessments, planning and architecture across IT management subject areas. These break down into business continuity planning, disaster recovery, security, information management, and service management.
The subject areas change over time with market influences. For example, security associated with regulations and risk management or data center optimization. Also, the need to do more with less, which results in platform consolidation, virtualization and more.
The second area falls under Projects and Program Management – in other words, sound justification and definition of effort. We help clarify the “why” of your project and extend the ownership of the initiative beyond the people that run the data center.
