Consultant - Unified Communications
 

Midwave is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Unified Communications Consultant. As a consultant your specific job responsibilities will vary by client engagement, but focus on Cisco unified communications system design and implementation.
 
Roles and Responsibilities: 
 

  • Work with Midwave clients and Midwave project teams to identify business and technical requirements for unified communications.
  • Perform network readiness and current state telephony assessments.
  • Develop unified communications designs based on the latest Cisco advanced technologies.
  • Implement & support unified communications solutions for clients based on industry and Midwave best practices.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and detailed design/operational documentation to clients.
  • Provide quality assurance documentation and peer review on projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Provide Tier 2 support

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 2 years of related IP telephony design / implementation experience including:
    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager
    • Cisco Call Manager Express
    • Cisco Unity / Unity Connection
    • Cisco Contact Center  Express
    • Cisco Meeting Place Express
    • H323 / SIP / MGCP / SCCP
    • Cisco Hardware & Software
  • Minimum of 1 year of related network / IP Telephony administration and support
  • Minimum of one year of related experience in network environments, including network engineering (hardware and software), network security practices and designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs
  • Excellent problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills are required
  • Excellent verbal communications and written documentation skills are required
  • Active Cisco CCNP or CCVP certifications are desired
  • Active Cisco Voice Specializations are desired

 

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with Cisco Professional level certification is preferred. Candidate should also be interested in pursuing additional certifications (CCNP, CCVP, CCIE, MCSE) as part of their professional development plan.
